And some are 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. Partial Hospitalization Programs are most of the time held in hospital based programs, as a step down between detox and intensive outpatient. It is mostly group therapy. On the other hand, inpatient is the level that gets the most concentration. Most have a detox as a part of their services and others will give someone who needs detox to a facility nearby and then be readmitted. Patients check in for some period of full time, stay there 24 hours a day. Every day requires group therapy, some individual counseling, lectures, some form of exercise. Like inpatient, residential, long term extended care requires the client to stay there 24 hours a day. There are, however, a number of key differences. One difference is the length of the drug program. Long term programs normally last 90 days. The other difference is the clinical therapeutic intensity level. Extended care has less individual therapy. The amount of money to be shell out is also one of the differences.
