It can be also destructive both physically and mentally. At present, studies show that people who are under the influence of alcohol use is involved in half of all crimes, murders, suicides and accidental deaths. More than that, brain damage, cancer, heart disease and diseases of the liver can also result from alcohol addiction. These all have negative consequences to society that would be very harmful to others as well.
